This is a frquent problem in the young age individuals now a days. Usually they come with pain in multiple joints with or without swelling. The commonest cause is Rheumatoid arthritis. But Today I am writing, not for the Rheumatoid arthritis, but, a peculier problem which, we as orthopedician ,came across in this part of the country that is pain persisted following a viral fever two years back that is in the month of september 2006. The fever was considered as Chickenguinea and was treated at that time by usual supportive treatment the fever and other problem subsides but not the pain. I have seen many such patients and treated them effectively with Disease modifying drugs. I think that these patient should get full treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I will be writing more atypical pain in subsequent posts.
